Now its starting to look like a library with the double doors. Vents are now in place for the ac units and painting is done inside. The tile layering has begun in the restrooms and the community looks huge. Cant wait to step inside when its all complete.

Stucco On!!

As I drove by the library I couldn't help but notice how far along the construction has come. All the main components of the library are finally finished. The windows and the sky lights are in their designated places. The building has a couple more months until it reaches perfection. The stucco is on the building, making it look just like the library color. In the mean time the construction workers will continue working on our basketball court and finishing all the interior designs. The addition is finally closer to being finished.

Play Ball!

What started off as leveled dirt with spikes in it, is now the foundation for the new basketball court. I can't wait for the first game of ...basketball? (or will it be soccer?)

Library Wrapping Party!

Scaffolding and the black paper are up. Now we need the stucco. What a view of the multi-purpose room, literacy office and conference room, facing the basketball court.

Blair St and Magnolia Ave Intersection

A look at Blair St. with the new expansion in sight. Wow! Have we grown!

Full Court or Half Court????

HGA Staff have seen a great amount of progress on our new basketball court. As you can see from these pictures, the construction is almost about done. Now we are just waiting on our court to be put up once more. At the moment it is difficult to tell if it's going to be a full or half court. We have some dirt and machines in the way, but once that is taken care of all we need is some cement and a good basketball for the real games :)

YMCA Ramp and Wall Demolishing

On one side you have a nice and clean area, and on the other you have a chaotic, but organized mess. The stage ramp and accompanying wall have been demolished but they still need a couple of stairs to go. The dust has been billowing out of the library so thickly our building seems as if it were filled with smoke! The construction crew are using jackhammers to break it up and then haul out all of the pieces the old-fashioned way...shovels and wheelbarrows.
